Ayurveda originated in India and has been thriving in Sri Lanka amongst native traditional healers for over 3,000 years. The Sanskrit words ‘Ayur’ and ‘Veda’ translates as life and knowledge or science. Ayurveda simply put, is the science of life.
Ancient Sri Lankans enjoyed long healthy lives thanks to a balanced integration of nourishing and healing foods, herbal teas and traditional Ayurveda medicines including tinctures and poultices as well lots of physical movement. We practice these traditional healing methods every day and our herbal teas and tinctures are made using locally grown and harvested medicines right here on the property.
Lanka Wellness Retreat believes that what you put into your body matters even more than what you put on your body.

Travel around 3kms until you reach a Y junction – turn right. (If you get to a T junction, with Kelanigama to the right – you have gone too far). Travel 600m to another Y junction and a large Mara tree. Take the concrete road on your right (Sri Seelawimala Mawatha Rd).
Turn almost immediately/10 metres beyond this turn onto Warnakulasuriya Mawatha Rd. Continue along here for about 500m until you see our gate to your left – steel with blue wood, and a mud wall.
Please contact us to email you a map if you would like one.
